I think my water pump is gone....
i know its not a common issue but i was driving home and noticed my temp was climbing past normalso i said hmm i hope its just a fluke. when i got home i decied to check te thermostat. draind some fluid took that bad boy out and not a thing wrong with it. so i topped off the coolant and started her up. i can heear a grinding noise coming from the general location of the water pump. well i guess its off to the service station tomorrow(today).

dealer was being a pain and was insisting that i had to pay a 500 buck deductible, i didnt want to deal with it at all and took it to the shop that i usually go to. they sometimes do gm warranty work when the dealers are swamped so he is trying to get some of the money reimbursed.

Water Pump
Were there any signs of a coolant leak prior to the grinding sound ?
Water pump failure is common some start failing at around 40k, but can fail at high miles. They usually fail in one of two ways: the bearings fail or they begin to leak (seals or gasket). It’s possible to have a leak from a cracked water pump. The low-pitched grinding sound is a key sign and/or a coolant leak.

no sign of coolant leaking whatsoever, further investigation into the pump, looks like the shaft was worn and to me looks like it went off balance and came in contact with the side of the housing.
