Ignition question

Has anyone ever had their ignition get stuck in the run position? Mine did this and had to pull a fuse under the hood to get the car to shut off. You can still start it after you put the fuse back and you can also remove the key. Also had to disconnect battery so the battery would drain. Moving gear shifter doesn't unlock it and pressing the little button under the steering column didn't do anything. Stumped....

I've got it called in but it sounds like it might be August before they get parts. Glad I have a 2nd car.

Too bad you weren't the first one here to try and help. I came in to ask a question give a little detail about my situation to be a little more personal.

Your question was "anybody else".
"Key stuck" returned 380 results. Your answer is YES.

That is not even getting to the "recall" thread with it's 40 or so pages.

And I did note that you have posted several times, indicating no longer a newbie status.
Explanation enough?

If you're patient, here's a thread going back to the heady days when HHR's were the new kids on the block, and keys were getting stuck eight years ago.

Maybe, just maybe, when every existing HHR has been cycled through GM's "Recall 'O Matic" machine....stuck keys will become just an unpleasant memory.

The slow death of a forum... The search box

Why not just let the forum die and have no more questions... Just the search box and Google?

Don't like the question, just move on.

New or different questions are interesting and intriguing. Finding answers and opinions are what keeps this site informative.

Now. When someone posts up or rehashes the same old questions that have been answered over and over, that's when participation will be down.

I for one am not going to rehash something that's been covered many times in the past. A search will usually give you any number of threads on a given subject. If, after searching you don't find the facts or answers you need, then by all means post up a "Hey. I searched but couldn't find an answer to ---------

Sorry to be such a burden on the site. I haven't had this problem numerous time, first time. Isn't part of the reason for forums the participation side of it and getting to know people? Anyone ever see the movie Falling Down, yeah that's how my night and morning was. Sorry to ask a question.
