intermittent no crank or start

Hey there, I just recently bought another HHR. It's a 2006 LT 2.4L. The first couple days it was fine. Now I'm getting an intermittent no crank no start issue. I think the security symbol comes on when this happens. Eventually the light will go out and it will start and run fine. Is this common? What would the fix be? I have been searching for hours and can't find an answer. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Has the ignition switch recall been preformed? Loose ground wires, loose under hood fuse box bolts? How old is the battery?

The security light goes on when the battery gets below 9 volts.

I think the recall has been done. If that online recall check site is accurate. I'll check the fuse box bolts. I have no idea how old the battery is. I just bought the car. Thanks

Take the battery to your local parts palace and have it load tested.

Well after trying a bunch of things that seemed to work for a few days at a time, I think I finally found out what the problem was. I took it to my buddies shop and he scanned it. It had 3 codes. The 3 codes indicated some interference between the key and transponder. It turns out it was my cell phone charger that was mounted to the vent was to close to the ignition. When it was charging it interfered with the transponder. If I put my phone in the charger before I started the car, the security light would come on and not crank. This was a new one for me. Thanks for the info guys.
