Btw, I bought my HHR from Enterprise in Orlando, and it runs fine. Got it in November with 13,000 miles on it, and it has the remote starter installed (the HHR was originally from Carolina). Just to answer your question about rentals and starters

That was very dangerous to cancel the check. Depending on how much the check was for you could have wound up being prosecuted for passing a bad check. The dealership was under no obligation to take the car back at that point, so something was either seriously wrong with the car or they just didn't want to mess with you.

Either way, you dodged a bullet. Good luck with your search.

BTW, there's a loaded black 2LT at Carmax Easton/Columbus.

Not necessarily. Check was issued on sufficient funds and "stopped" by the originator. Thus no criminal intent. In most jurisdictions it now becomes a civil matter between the two parties.

Actually

Hard to believe but this one did come with a remote starter.

The check was issued from Citifinancial. It was not from my own account. Citifinancial said if the car was not the one I wanted I could take it back and they'd issue a new check.

The dealer didn't follow the appropriate steps to make that check live anyway.

They were supposed to send my DL and Marrige license and a collision worksheet er something to make the check a good check. Since they didn't Citifinancial wasn't going to accept it for pymt.

Thanks for the links, I will look at all of them to find my car...

Hey you could leave the bad weather THERE and come down HERE and buy a new 2006 Black LT and drive it back. I found 3 new 2006's in black just by going to chev.com and clicking the link find a car. I believe there is something like a $2500 rebate on the 06's....and most of the LT's list at around $19K. Plus whatever negotiating you can do. Black, in my opinion, is the best looking color...especially when clean. But, that color is a hard seller in this climate. 115+ in the summer is a "don't touch" issue with black....so you MIGHT be able to do well...taking it off the dealers hands

i agree...but I would be concerned about 1 thing though. I work for a bank, & when we place a stop payment on a check from someone's account, we tell them that the stop is not guaranteed until the next business day. For example, if a stop payment is placed today, and the check clears the bank tonight, the stop payment may not be recognized and the payee would receive their funds. That would be my biggest concern since the car has already been returned.

But anyhow, GOOD LUCK on your search for the new GOMEZ!!!
