Keyless Remote FOB

What does it take to program a keyless remote entry FOB??? i need one for my 2001 Jimmy, found one on ebay with programming instructions... but dont want to get stuck with something i cant do....

My son reprogrammed one for my 99 denali that we bought on e-bay (fob). Am out of town till next week but can post instructions if you want.

On some 99's it can be done DIY, but on new GM vehicles they have to be either dealer programmed, or programmed by someone with a scan tool. Locksmiths have them too and generally charge less than the dealerships. What most dealers don't want you to know is that it usually takes about 30 seconds. The locksmith will usually just do it right in front of you!

well i ordered a keyless remote for my gmc Jimmy on ebay... instructions came with it, was quite easy to program.... I know not all will be this easy... just glad it was for my Jimmy
