LCA bolt/bushing issue
LCA bolt/bushing issue
I'm replacing both LCA on my 08 LT, the driver side went without a hitch. Passenger side is being a pain. I got the bolt to move about an ⅛ of an inch but now the bushing is flexing really bad and I cannot get the bolt to break free. Can anyone give me any advice, please?!
Buy a new bolt. Spray Kroil on the cage nut, let it soak for as long as possible, days would be good. Put a pipe on the end of your breaker bar. You might end up having to cut it out.
There are quite a few threads about this here. Use the search function. It's always the passenger side.

Work it out very slowly, hitting it with an air impact gun will break the nut loose inside the cage , fastsuv broke the drivers side one on Oldblue, he took a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder and a cold chisel to cut the cage and the bolt , then replaced it with an M14 nut and correct length bolt. He matched up from the passenger side.
That's crazy. Good news is, I got it! Just got done taking it out, now to put new one back in. Yay! Thanks for all your advice/help. Greatly appreciated. I've had my HHR for 3 years now, and I love it. This past year has been the year of repairs, but so worth it.
