Lower Control Arm Bolt Spins!!

Hello All!

I am having a problem with replacing the LCAs on my 06 HHR. The bolt holding the arm at the rear bushing is about an inch out, but now it's just spinning free. I can't pull it out or tighten it anymore. I see that it's spinning the metal sleeve on the inside of the bushing, but I can't get it to pull out. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I have had this problem before it can be a pain to get it to come out. I have had some that I was able to grab the sleeve with vise grips and hold it from spinning then using an impact gun to get the bolt to break loose. On some I have had to heat it how ever you must be very careful when heating because the rubber of the bushing will catch fire. Have a garden hose close by to put out the fire when it flames up. I have also seen the tee nut that the bolt threads into spin inside the frame mount again using a impact gun and a pry bar to to keep tension on the bolt with a downward force to keep the tee nut from spinning in the frame. Some times it takes while of just using working it back and forth with an impact gun and using rust penetrant. Remember the rust penetrant is flammable if you decide to use heat. Good luck and have patients

I wonder, is the bolt just stuck in the sleeve, but actually freed from the "nut"?

Maybe you could get a pry bar to get a purchase on the bolt head. I know that's not much help.
