Giving a percent of leakage leads me to believe the testing was done properly and did test for leakdown.

How would a dead spark cause 50 psi?

He was asking if the estimate was fair. Answer is: maybe, since we don't know exactly what the estimate includes. I am guessing a new head assembly, so probably $2500 is fair for a 2.4L. The reason for the large variation is for some reason the flat rate difference between 2.2 and 2.4 and the parts prices. I don't know why there is a 3 hour difference between the 2.
