Lights dimming when auto shifts gears
has anyone else experienced this...?? when taking off after first starting off with headlites on low beam and fog lights on also-- as the car accelerates and the trans shifts from gear to gear-- the lights dim for a split sec and then come back to full brightness.. it does this with the A/C on or off -- so I have ruled that part out... I have checked all fuses-- under hood and inside console panel-- battery cable and connections --especially ground side.. hoping to get to use my spare fluke o-scope over the weekend to do some tests and logging of the control circuits...

This happens when more amps are needed then what the generator can put out. It means for that spit second you are on battery power. More common at idle with lots of accessories running but I could see it happen during a shift if more amperage was requested than what the generator could supply.

thought about that and measured the other nite since other people have had bad luck with some of their batteries.. Measured 12.6 vdc --engine off when parked... morning measurement same -- 12.6 vdc --started up running and lites/fogs and ac on the volt meter read 13.68 vdc... thinking it may have something to do with the electronic shift part of the tranny --pulling a higher load amps for some reason during that shift ..
