Liquid rushing sound on start and accel

My 2008 LS makes this sound like water rushing around the firewall when I start my car first thing in the morning and the first few starts from a light in the morning. I thought it may just be wiper fluid for the back window? or is this something else (heater core??). I can't tell that it is doing anything bad, no leaks, drips, errors.

I would have tried to search the boards but have no idea what I would have searched for... anyone else with this sound?

Check your coolant level.

I can check it, but I have been hearing this sound for 2 years and heard it since the day I bought it. Figured it was a idio of the car.

Hope not then. Had mine do this and took to the dealer. Filled it up and has never done it again.

Nope not mine.. Agree with Hills, check the coolant level.
In the overflow tank & when it is overnight cold, check under the Coolant cap..

Air sometimes gets trapped & can make this sound. And if Dexcool is not there, that area can get overheated.

albeit 2 yrs.. Still check it thoroughly..

Yup, check the coolant level and look for obvious leaks, but you may have one that gurgles just because it gurgles. Both of mine gurgle at exactly the same place when cold, there is a dip leaving the condo driveway, and both give me a gloopy sounding gurgle when pulling out. Both systems are full to exactly the right level, both have been pressure checked, both are leak free, and both gurgle when they're cold. At this point, unless I cook an engine or blow a head gasket, I'm not concerned....but check yours out carefully to be safe.

My SS makes that noise, and always has. Goes away when fully warmed up, so I assumed it's coolant during the warm-up that is moving around in the heater core while the thermostat is closed (thus not full flow). I don't think mine has evern done it when warm.

Overfill the overflow resvior by 1/3 and it will never do it again. In some cars the full mark is just not high enough, do yourself a favor and overfill for sure.
