Lost all Electrics

Anyone else experienced the pucker factor involved with the Positive charge post breaking off the main fuse box (under the hood), during rush hour traffic?

That is interesting. DO NOT remember anyone having this complaint.

Curious as if there are any indications of why it broke. Corrosion, stress, ? Or is it the bracket the holds the post in that position?

I think you are a first however.

I sent pictures to my dealer, they told me they have seen it... caused by the vibrations of the engine running. Seems scary to me. Car has been fine up until two months ago when they had to replace the shift trans computer and steering control module.

I could not loosen the bolt so my mech. used a tork wrench and broke the coppper tab, drilled a small hole on the short tab a brass from the battery post and a sheet metal screw holding the 2 together, working for over 4 years now.

If your mechanic used a torque wrench to break it loose, you might need a new mechanic...just my first thought.

He is now a minister and started his own church, I never went back to him for any repairs.

Dear Chevrolet, Thank you for your email response. I do not recall asking for information on a new Chevrolet. I was merely voicing my concerns on why my vehicle lost all electrical power in rush hour traffic two months after having the trans computer and power steering computer replaced in my vehicle. You have reiterated the feeling of faith I have in your product.

Wow, a week later, Chevrolet has now decided to send my case up to a district rep....should hear back from them in the next 24 hours. It is a good thing my reaction time was faster when my HHR lost all electrical power in rush hour traffic!
