low brake fluid

low brake fluid
2009 2.2 LS
having dash light issues, abs brake, and traction control,
my code reader says low brake fluid but that's not true.
it has never been low
what could cause that?
I get codes C0550 & C0201
AS I have read with the ABS codes 1 problem can cause many lights to come on.
Thoughts
Thanks

It's very likely your battery is bad. After your car sits for at least 10 minutes use a multi-meter to check the voltage at the battery posts. If it's 12.6 volts or less you need a new battery. Low battery voltage will cause all sorts of flaky things to happen to CEL lights, dash board, etc. on modern vehicles. My GMC Sierra went nuts one time, the battery was at 12.3 volts. New battery, no more issues.

I thought that too. the car had the original battery from new I checked this morning and it was on it's way out. can't believe it lasted this long!!
anyway installed a new diehard today still the same issue.

There isn’t much information on the internet in regards to the HHR, mostly it is an internal electrical issue with the ABS system, the brake fluid level sensor can be faulty. Most sites say to check connectors for bent pins and or corrosion

Your EBCM is either broken or the wires are compromised. Both are for computer errors.
What does your talking code reader know about the fluid level? Or, do you mean the stupid thing is diagnosing the codes?

Yes I've been searching everywhere and came to the same conclusion,

[QUOTEmy code reader says low brake fluid][/QUOTE]
What does this mean? Is the reader speaking to you about a subject it is not versed in or are you reading what the stupid machine is diagnosing the codes?
I then went on to tell you what they really mean. The information is here, you just need to listen to it.
C0201 means that a relay inside the EBCM is not responding to commands. Either wires are compromised or the computer and/or the relay are malfunctioning.
C0550 means that there is a checksum error in the EBCM. Either wires are compromised or the computer is malfunctioning.
QED: either the EBCM is trashed or the wires are compromised.
