Interested in what others have done or plan to do regarding when to perform (or have performed) first oil change.

 

I have my HHR since 2 months now and 2600 KM so i'll plan to change my oil just before going down to Florida for my vacations,at the end of September . I'll be pretty close to 5000 KM at this time but if i don't reach 5000 KM until my Trip i'll change it to Synthetic Oil (mobil 1).

 

Did one @ 3000 at the end of May. I would normally have gone longer, but look at my build vs delivery dates.... it was in there for 10 months.

My plan is to run synthetic at/near the OLM specified intervals, so I filled it up with synthetic for a first, somewhat shorter interval (until next fall, @ 10000 miles or so) to flush the regular oil out and sync myself to the season cycle (I don't want to have to change oil in the middle of winter...). Then, it looks like it's going to be every 6 months/10000 miles, by the current OLM estimates (roughly 10% life drop every 2000 km / 1250 miles, likely a bit more in the winter).

I voted 3000, but my first oil change was really at 2500 with dino oil then again at 5000 with Full Synthetic. It will be 5000 from here on out with Full synthetic oil.
