Minor problem with my new used HHR- rear wiper not working
Hi
I have a working wiper motor for the HHR if you need one. That is unless you do what "Fox Hat" says -- which is what I plan to do. I already have the camera set up. It will fit exactly in the wiper hole.
I use my mirrors when in reverse and I don't like the looks of the wiper on the car. Easy to take out an leave the defroster hooked up if you want.

Also, make sure it's not physically stuck to the glass. If it hasn't been used for years, it's a possibility. Just lift it up off the glass to verify.
I have had power windows stick in place in the past, and, after tearing the door apart, discovered the weatherstrip was just stuck to the glass.

It lifts. But after reading all the posts about it being a scratch machine, I wonder...
As Solman and a few oithers have stated........mine also is not scratched (after almost 8 years). I really think it comes down to providing adequate maintenance.......cleaning, assuring the rubber is still intact, proper pressure, etc......just generally proper care.

Take out the wiper. Its fairly easy and there are a number of things you can do with the hole in the hatch. Some of us, especially Panel owners, install a rear view camera. It fits perfectly. Or you can put a reflector to cover it or even wire it for an extra brake light. For right now I have a Walter Reuther medal affixed there. I haven't had the time to install my camera yet. Much to hot and humid here.
I think it looks a heck of a lot better without that obtrusive wiper there.

It was the fuse. I waited a bit before posting here to make sure all stayed well, and it's been working fine for two weeks. No scratches on the window either!
On a side note, I'm really loving the vehicle. Tomorrow my wife and I are going to drive up to New York City to visit our son, so we'll have lots of time with it. First impressions include a very quiet ride and very good fuel economy. And it looks great.
