Motor swaps

I have a 2008 that I think needs a transmission along with I bit of other work. I priced out some of the parts I'd need excluding the trans and it's a bit on the steep side. I found a 2006 that is in a lot better shape than what a have but it needs a motor. Will the motor in my 08 swap right over to the 06 or is there a way to make it work in the 06?

Maybe, if they are both 2.4L. No, 2.2L.

I believe that even the same 2.4 engine, but different years could have different changes. Just throwing it out there.

I think that the engine itself (iron) will get into the body without problems. And it will also connect to the transmission correctly, even if you change the automatic transmission to manual.
But the real problem can be expected from electronic control units. IIn other words, when replacing an engine, you must reconfigure or even change the car's brain.
Well, some lines, hoses or wires may differ too.
