Mystery Wire

Well it is STILL the old harness for the throttle, you had a repair done at some time to replace the 4 wires from the ECM to the throttle control, either a recall or a TSB. Note that the wires to the throttle are new and hand wrapped and go directly to the ECM. Un modified wiring goes all the way around to the backside of the engine to connect to all of the other ECM related things, and ending at the (single) ECM plug. The module under the black plastic hood in front of the under-hood fuse box, pull that hoodie off and you will see the four wires are cut or spliced at the ECM connector.

I didn't look at the other thread, but I am Curious here.
WHY would he have needed his wiring harness hacked up on a Stock HHR?
I don't think he has done any engine performance mods has he? I wouldn't be real happy if my mechanic, dealer or otherwise started hacking up my wiring harness.

Back in the original thread 843de said "Back on 4/19/2011 they did this...."Cause: Engine harness chafing at TPS signal J7720 Bulletin 08-06-04-022B 9527 WC 2.20 : Repaired wiring to PCM Connector,, Replaced 4 terminals" .
Duh, that is the "4 way connector" to the Throttle. Why is this still a mystery??????

I had a Toyota dealer "give me free oil changes for life". Oddly enough, it got more and more difficult to schedule an appointment and easier to find reasons to not do it, like "you've gone over 3000 miles" or "the recommended change is at 4000 miles" or "weren't you just here last month" or "this is not a multiple of 3000" or "this is not a multiple of 4000". For some reason the "free service" was for every 3000, but the manual said every 4000, and I do 1000 a week. Anyway car dealers are weasels.
