I would replace all 4 and get the seal kit.

 

I plan on all 4. Which brand? Delco, Standard Motor, or Airtex? All about same price, more or less. I normally would go with Delco, but the other brands claim to be improved over the OEM. (Not sure if I believe them)

What is the seal kit? The photo shows the blue o ring on the injectors. Is there another seal I need besides that and the black o rings on each end?

Don't buy Airtex anything, in my opinion.

It is very important to replace with the exact same part number. The computer tables are set up for the part number.

The injectors come with their seals, these are the "installation" seals. My cups were all carboned up and not reuasable; I had to use a lot of force to get them out. Then scrape the carbon off of the head.

Both supposed to be for my 2006. Which is the right one? And they all appear to come with the seals. I think the seal kit is if you are just using your old injectors.

The ebay injectors are much cheaper than from Rockauto. I like that.

When I checked AC/Delco parts catalog, it lists 217-2907. The ebay and Rockauto have 217-2257. When I cross refrenced that on the Delco page, it says that also is for a 2006 HHR. So what is the right injector? And what is the difference?

 

Here is a TSB on the subject. There are a couple others, but the symptoms should have manifested a long time ago (like when it was new).



The thing is there are 2 designs of the injectors, the ECM needs to be programmed for the correct one, it is preferable to have the second design with the appropriate program change. Sorry, I can't find the relative part numbers. I guess get the number off yours and compare to what the GM book says. I am taking a wild guess that you have the "old" design, so you will probably need a reprogram.

I think Denso makes the AC-Delco injectors.

 

Why cant anything be easy? Will the car run without being reprogrammed? Is the dealer the only place or can a repair shop do the reprogram? Many years ago, I had a performance program ran on my computer-and when I tried to have Chevy check the computer, they couldnt because it was locked. I hope I dont have to go back to that performance shop-it is a 3 hour drive.

Also, can the left rear wheel sensor be replaced, or do I need to change the entire hub.

I just called Delco, gave them the last 8 numbers of my VIN, and they told me I need the 217-2907 injectors. Ordered them from Amazon (I have Prime) and they should arrive on Wednesday. Also, the sensor is not available separately, it is part of the hub.

I think your tune throws everything off. Depend on what it is set up for.

If you went to GM for a programming you would be back to stock.

 

New injectors arrived, and they looked different. Took me a while before I figured out that I just had to remove the sleeve from the old and put it on the new. Car is idling smooth again, and running strong. About 20 miles, and no misfire code or P0171 code. And, amazingly, no TC or ABS codes either. This is why I hate computers in cars so much. You can never tell how one thing controls another thing.
