Folks, I just found this old thread. My SS seems to be having this exact issue. I disconnected the battery for something completely unrelated to the radio. After reconnecting, the radio is completely dead. Fuse #23 seems fine. Was there any final resolution to the situation in this thread?

For clarification, your issue is more then just no sound, you also have nothing lighting up the radio display?

Correct. I have no audio. I have no display on the radio. I push its center button to power on and get nothing. The car starts and drives fine. But the radio is completely lifeless. And today's battery disconnect was not intended to affect the radio at all.

I had that issue, there’s a few companies that will revive your head unit , some internal circuits need to be repaired. Or just get a replacement radio from where ever you like. Crutchfield has the adapters and brackets.

I'm really perplexed as to what could have damaged the radio. This is not the first time I have disconnected the battery in this car and the radio has been fine each time. Do you know the names of any of those companies?

The fuse seems “fine” ? Did you actually check it with a meter ? Does it have power on both sides of the fuse ?
If yes, then your next step should be to pull the radio and check for power to it at the plug in. No sense in buying a new radio if there’s no power at the harness.

After some checks tonight, it looks like my radio is officially dead. The hot and ground to the radio is fine, telling me the damage is internal.

@Oldblue by chance, did your repair friend tell you what diode was toasted? I'm wondering if I can take it to an electronics guy with that information and have them replace that diode to get it working again.

I ended up getting a replacement head unit and vin matched it to the car. The burnt radio had internal circuit board issues, wasn’t worth repairing
