Can you put in the radio from the black Swan, as a test, see if you at least get turn signal clicks back?

Great theory RJ , but then there’s the possibility of damage to that radio , or if I put the radio out of Oldblue into the Black Swan.
I think one good working radio is much better then two fried ones.
I spoke to my new neighbor, he’s a computer design guy retired from IBM , I gave the dead radio to him to disassemble it and test it , he believes he can repair it .

Ok, I'm having the same issue. The radios completely black and no clicking for the turn signal, though they still turn on, and I just replaced my battery yesterday.

Did you do anything else?
Check the maxi fuse near the battery.

From what I’ve gathered , the diode in the radio is toasted. There is a member here who had a link to a repair shop

This has me wondering...
Since it seems like the battery change is zapping the diode in the stock radio, would it be advisable to remove inside fuse #23 when changing/reconnecting the battery?

I just replaced the radio, I don’t want to test that possibility.
I think the radio still gets power thru the BCM.

It gets constant power from the fuse (clock etc); it gets the on signal from the BCM.

From the BCM thru the radio on signal wire, I’ll stop there because, I don’t have evidence to confirm the source of the voltage spike or short circuit

The "on/off" signal comes from the BCM on the GMLAN. That's why you need an adapter or a switched source.
