new car clunks

Hey everyone. Thank you all for the information on this forum. I recently purchased a 2007 HHR with about 131,000 on it and it's already exhibited several of the issues people have talked about here. First was the dreaded clutch sticking issue which apparently is now fixed, but now its the front end noises. I'm kind of at a crossroads. I paid $2000 + trade in for the vehicle, the clutch issue already cost me $900 and though I do like the car, these front end issues are kind of scary. My steering wheel is loose to the right and the car knocks on turns sometimes but not always. Don't know whether I want to pursue this issue or sell it.

Welcome to the site, we can't make up your mind, but I'd at least inspect the front end, it's not always everything clunking but one or two things.
They can be spread out over a few weekends or months, replace one clunk at a time!

Moved to a new thread.

There is a link in my sig about diagnosing front end noiises.

Your description sounds like Lower Control Arm bushings.

Well, you either do a full inspection to determine what the problem is, and fix it if it is within your budget, OR, sell it the way it is.

If you figure out where the problem lay, there is most likely a how-to on the procedure to fix it yourself, and save some serious $'s.

Rear LCA bushings are under $10.00 each on eBay, complete LCA's would address the ball joints and rear bushings.
There's a link in Donbrew's signature about rattles and clunks.
