New Here Just got a Panel

Just bought my second HHR and here’s what the guy I bought it from said..

The keyless remote unlocks the front doors but it has lost the ability to remote start and open the back doors. I ran the battery down once and it lost the programming. Took it to a dealer and they wanted a bunch of money and couldn’t guarantee that they could fix it. I think if someone had a good gm dealership. They could get it working again. My chevy dealership is horrible.

2008 models need updated firmware for the RCDLR. Does the TPMS system display the tire pressure data?

refer to TSB #08-03-16-001B it lists the "warranty " charges you won't be under warranty, but it should cost about 1 hour labor. It can be found in this thread:https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/prob...-thread-23231/

There is an additional step required to program the cargo doors, many techs are unaware.

The remote start is probably either needs to be turned on in the DIC menu or the hood latch switch is faulty/misaligned.

Or remote start won't work if the check engine light is on for any reason...

I had mine reprogrammed last summer and everything worked well, until the battery went dead again 4 months later.
Now I've got to get all of that done again. And I will keep a battery tender on it during extended storage. ...john

The updated software is supposed to fix the memory issue. Or are you talking about the cargo doors only?

Nope , all of the doors and the tire monitors. Good thing the dealership techs didn't charge me anything. That's probably Karma getting me- I'll probably have to pay next time...john

Sounds like it was only reset not new software. My 2008 was permanently fixed with the new software.

I will be going back to the Chevy dealer in mid-March. I'll do a little more homework this time . And I don't mind paying the price if they fix it permanently. The car basically goes to South Carolina and back twice a year.
