New HHR owner, Tranny problem

Hello, first time HHR owner here. I bought an '07 automatic 2.4l with only 79,000 miles on it. I noticed a problem while getting off the freeway. When I tried to accelerate it just revved up for a couple seconds before the gear caught and it went. I'm hoping this is something simple and not a major problem. It seems to shift fine once it's moving. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Noticed any puddles under the car?
Anybody change the transmission fluid lately?
Any lights on the dash?
I'm guessing it is low on fluid.

There's no check engine light. I noticed the car do it on Saturday when I was driving it home after I bought it, so Sunday I went to Valvoline and got an oil change and paid to have them drain and fill the transmission. They said that the fluid looked good, and there was no signs of leaks or anything, but for some reason there was only 1.8qts of fluid that drained out, they said that the manufacturer recommended amount was 6qts. Anywho, I did that yesterday, then today after driving on the freeway, it did that same thing. I gave it has, no movement but engine revving, then it caught and started driving normally. I'm hoping it's a cheap fix because I really like this car.

Check the wiring connector at the TCM and correct any loose connections the pins can work loose.

How much fluid did they put in? What type, should be Dexron VI (it came with Dexron IV but they changed).

The quantity is listed in your Owner Manual, See the link in my sig.

Drain the transmission, for that , the transmission fluid pan needs to be removed, did they replace the transmission filter? That would require 6.38 litres to refill the transmission. There is no real way to drain the fluid by tube to get the fluid up thru the fill hole in the top of the transmission.

But if they just pulled the pan and filter, there would still be a fair amount in the torque converter, and probably other nooks and crannies. I'm sure this has been discussed before.

Did they even change the filter?
