I had the same problem this AM. Car dead & key now stuck in ignition. Can't wait to get home from work & hook up charger to see if that is the problem. Hope so. And no previous signs of low or dead battery.

Finally got home, got the key out, hooked up the charger. It's dark now so I put it on trickle and will check it in the morning. No lights left on! Hmmmmmmm???

Just went out to check, no lights on, but the GPS screen had come to life. I am trying to remember the last time I drove her?

(the step by step is in your owners manual)
What is really helpful in these type of user support forums is to provide a page number in the manual or a complete step by step or a link to the online step by step. Without that, suggesting that it is in the manual without those references is just about worthless. What is worse is, if you did in fact include the link (since your header is in blue) and for whatever reason the CHEVYHHR.net site removed the link, in which case, I am the fool and my beef is aimed at them not you. Somehow I believe the link was removed so my apologies if that is the case.

Welcome, Mr Hall

did you mean the owners manual link in post # 10?
no one from Chevy HHR.net removed any link from FMG’s post.

FMG posted the information as many others have , over the years, it’s up to you to find more information on the interwebs, if you want to read it elsewhere.

Great first post! Next on the list is ask for help and never come back to update.
Of course, looking through the manual just might teach you something about your car. Unless you already know everything about it except for that one bit.
