be careful when jump starting your HHR. Hook your positive cable to the positive post under the hood negative to bolt on strut tower. there is a black post on the other side of fuse box. this is not a negative post.

That post supplies power to the electric power steering, and the fuses go poof when they get jumped from another car.
thank you fellas I guess thats what i did huh? Good news tho i found the manual haych release!!! Bad news going to was mart to get wires for this stereo i got from my cousin he got a whole mess of them in a storage anyways i post picks wish me luck thx again for the quick insight to my power steering/jump f_€k€d start

Thanks for posting this! As I am new to this 2010 HHR and usually drive older vehicles, I would have used that negative post for sure! I'll be sure if I have to jump her that I use the strut bolt for the negative lead. You probably saved me from another heart attack.

Your 2011 is supposed to have a large decal on the fuse box cover. And your Owner Manual (see the link in my sig) has a whole section about it.
