Odd clutch pedal problem. Half power on 1st and 2nd

I have an odd issue. 2007 HHR 2.2 Manual transmission. In 1st and 2nd gear if I let the clutch pedal out completely I loose power until I hit 3000rpm. If I lightly press the clutch pedal down a 1/2 inch I gain full power then 1st and 2nd operate as expected. I've had the vehicle for 5 years and it'll do this for 3-6 months then the problem goes away for a few months before returning. I've tried to research and troubleshoot when its acting up but not alot of info out there I can find about this problem. Hoping someone here has encountered this.

Things done. Checked ground wires (could have missed one or more), replace clutch and pressure plate.

Any thoughts on what the cause could be? Thanks in advance.

I did. I also replaced the hose from the bleed valve ending at the clutch master cylinder at the firewall. I believe I have the clutch master cylinder and 2 clutch position switches left to try but may have more to try.

The one on the right, #7, Part Number: 22620888 is for cruise control and neutral safety. #8, Part Number: 22734989 is for top of travel.

You seem to be blaming the clutch for a possible engine/transmission problem. If the the trans is not slipping and the engine is bogging how is the clutch doing that?

My guess would be the sensors need adjusting.

Where do you see OP blaming the clutch? He's simply providing information that he gets full power when the clutch pedal is very slightly depressed.

Yes, I agree with donbrew, there is something wrong with the pedal switch, I would think the "top of travel" switch.

I don't think it's a rotary pedal position sensor like later years got. It's a switch, possibly a variable switch, like on a variable speed drill. There may be adjustment available for it.

There's no adjustment on the SS clutch pedal, I would think the same is true with LS/LT.
