I didn't notice any at my 1st change at 1100 miles but I really didn't look all that closely either. All the more reason to do that 1st change earlier I guess
I'll check again at 4100 miles when I do my 2nd change

Sounds like a pretty normal occurence, there used to be a break-in oil change period, like 500mi..
Now people want to avoid paying $20.00 and carry this kind of debris around for 3,000-5,000 mi..

But it has been a known item from the early 2006 model in 2005 it was found.

The debris is coming from a passage that is between the pump and the oil filter. When the oil is pressurized in the engine for the first time the debris is caught by the filter and cannot move into the rest of the engine. It cannot backflow into the passage, either. Essentially, they're saying let the oil filter DO ITS JOB, and don't try to talk the customer into rebuilding his engine.
