I don't think lifting up the engine may have caused this, since I am not even applying pressure to these points.

Just watch the oil.
Add when needed.

If it is the timing cover that is leaking, it's not as big of a job as you think. The engine does not have to come out.

That oil is down wind of the crankshaft seal, as guppy has indicated the oil leaks past the crankshaft seal and slings out and the wind spreads it like that. change the crankshaft oil seal. There isn’t a magic fix to this, or as inexpensive.

Wouldn't there be some oily residue showing on the front of the timing cover? I only see oil at the timing cover gasket.

Not sure what all that white is... Paint?

Either way, timing cover gasket or front crank seal, easy job, right? If I wasn't 100% sure, I'd do both while I had the crank pulley(balancer) off. Is the front seal easier with the timing cover off?

Isn’t that oil coming out under the harmonic balancer?

Probably. I'm just saying, if he's got the balancer off, it's just some small bolts and the cover is off. I'd hate to put it all back together, just to discover that there were 2 leaks.

Agreed, if the balancer is off, change the cover gasket. Cover all the bases.

I trimmed out this piece , it goes under the upper engine mount bracket and eliminated the need to unbolt it.
