Oil leak from oil pressure sensor?

Hello all!
My starter has been making weird noises for a long time, and almost left me stranded recently, so took it off and ordered a new one. I've had an oil leak up front for a long time, which probably contributed to the starter going out. The oil residue is worst up front bottom of engine but there's also some residue that's spread all the way back to around the transmission pan. I learned that the oil pressure sensor is a common culprit for leaking oil so I replaced it while waiting for new starter. But looking at the old sensor, it looks fine. I don't see how it could have leaked so much. The new starter should arrive today so I'll install it this evening and watch for more leaking. Anyone have a similar experience?
Is there another spot that commonly leaks oil on HHRs? Thanks!

Change the oil pressure sensor, why ruin a new starter? Only other way oil is there is valve cover gasket or spilt oil while pouring into spout
the oil pressure sensor leaks between the metal piece and the Bakelite part

Hey Old Blue! Good to hear from ya again!
I did already replace the oil pressure sensor.
Do you think there's any way the leak could come from the crankshaft position sensor, right beside the oil pressure sensor? Or the knock sensor either? Thanks dude

You can remove those wipe them clean and reinstall them if there’s any oil present

I went ahead and put the new starter on. I'm gonna watch it for more leakage. I work in reliability at a paper mill, we have oil dye and UV flashlights. I may put the dye in. I need to clean up the motor somewhat first. Thanks everyone!

If you are sure the filter cap is not cracked save your time and replace the pressure sensor. It is a very frequent point of failure.

I did replace the oil pressure sensor, then the new starter went in. It seems like my leak has slowed down, but what is the sensor right behind the oil filter? It looks like a sensor connected to a hose that runs back into the steering assembly? I think my leak may be coming from there.

To the passenger side of the oil pressure sensor, would be a knock sensor.
