Outside temp gauge sticks

Anyone have this problem? My outside temp gauge seems to pick a temp in the morning and stay on that temp all day. Other day started out at 16, which was accruate..but day climbed up to 34...the temp gauge all day held at 16. Next morning it was accurate again (this time said 32)..again stayed that temp all day, even though outside temp dropped to 20's. Some days works great..others seems stuck. Anyone else?

Mine started doing the same thing a few days ago. I wonder if it has anything to do with the humidity or the fact that we went through a lot of cold spells. It worked fine all last summer and fall.

To be honest with you, I only really paid attention to the temp while on long trips. If the weather warmed up, I would switch from vent to a/c. But I usually starting feeling uncomfortable before I ever looked at the temp gauge. My minivan had temp and direction together on the same display. I used the direction constantly while traveling. It kept me going many miles in the wrong direction. My HHR doesn't have that option.

I have seen this concern a couple of times, no TSB's that I am aware of, my diag for the two hhrs that had an outside ambient air tempature display problem led to the Body Control Module. Without the proper diag its hard to determine. I have yet to see an Outside ambient air temp sensor on the HHR fail. Good Luck
