Outside Temp is "stuck" at 77
It seems to be able to go lower, but not higher than 77*F (and it's in the 80s and 90s here, for sure). Any idea where this sensor is? I did recently wash the car, and replaced the battery on Saturday. Otherwise, I have not been disturbing anything, and the car has mostly been sitting. I'd like to check the connections, and make sure things look right at least. Thanks for any help.

The outside temp is limited on it's increase (it will decrease) until the car has been driven a certain number of miles. (non stop..... stop and go driving as in go to store one block from home, drive around corner and get coffee, go half a block and get gas, etc. would not be added together, so does not count) go out and drive about 15-20 miles and it should suddenly read proper.
The sensor is in the same fenderwell as the air intake, passenger side front, I believe. We've had this same subject come up here several times.

It's been doing this since Saturday, and I just drove it 45 miles to work today. Lemme search. I thought this was so weird it had to be "original"...
edit: I'll see what it is at lunch time. It's possible that I didn't wait long enough. Strange algorithm...

Mine will get stuck at a temperature for a day or two every now and then, then it will be ok for months. I never really worried about it, it always catches up eventually. As long as the HHR looks good, and runs good, I'm not going to sweat that. First car I've ever had with that feature so I really forget it's even there. LOL

I think it's actually kind of stupid.... especially when it's part of the main display right along with the odometer...... Would have been better to have engine temp there, and outside temp could have been buried in the menu somewhere. Or... left out completely. Outside temp? Who cares. If it's warm enough my windows are down anyways, and if it's too cold for that? Well then it's just to damn cold..... who needs numbers? [/rant]

It WAS just the algorithm. It read 104 when I started it yesterday afternoon, and cooled off to 95 on the way home. Today it was slowly rising from 78 to 86 on the highway. Thanks for the help, and am glad it was nothing more than a quirk.
