Oxygen sensor in 2006 2.4

Is there only one oxygen sensor on the 2.4 motor 2006? When I replaced the cat/flexpipe, the instructions said to plug the upper bung.

There is an up stream sensor, located before the catalytic converter, either in the pipe after the flex pipe or in the exhaust manifold before the exhaust flange. Then the down stream sensor is just after the catalytic converter in the pipe before the 2 bolt flange .

I know most engines have 2 sensors, but mine is 2006 and I believe it only has one after the cat.

If you don’t see one in the exhaust manifold, look past the flex pipe before the catalytic converter

How is is supposed to control fuel delivery without measuring the exhaust before any conversions?
No need for a post cat without a pre cat.

Before - to control fuel,
After - to verify cat is working

Right here under the heat shield, you have to remove the heat shield

That makes sense. Thanks Now, which one should I get? AC/Delco has many sensors that are all supposed to fit, but they range in price from $55 to over $100. I am at a loss on which to get.

From RA or any other parts supplier, bear in mind there are fakes out there.
