P0010 CEL Issue

Just a heads up to you guys with 09 2.2L's!

46k Miles and I had a P0010 Issue with the the "Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)"

Not covered if your out of the 3yr/30k Warranty.

Anybody manage to have this issue and get it covered? Dealer said its a 250 buck job.

Sorry if I'm venting but oh well, still love my car :)

Yes, it's a known problem. If you do a SEARCH (near the top of the page) in the HOW-TO section for p0010 you will find a hugely long thread on how to resolve it by replacing the camshaft actuator solenoids.

If you buy the part, and replace it yourself, you are looking at ~$50 out of pocket and less than an hour of your time (easy job).

PS: as with most of the threads here, you need to go to the last page, and read backwards for the latest status (and in this case, part numbers)

Hey there, I did see that thread before hand!

I'm not the best with fixing things so I took it into the dealer. I'm the guy that busted a light bulb putting it in one time. Plus the car was stalling out so I felt inclined to get it in and fixed instead of me driving it and maybe causing more issues until I had time to fix it.

I had a GMPP intake installed on it last month so I was also worried about that causing it but I was told that wasn't the issue. Just a string of bad luck, oh well.
