P0011 Troubleshoot.

Argggh! 70,000 on the '06 2.4 5 speed. Hot July day of 104 and the check engine light comes on. Took it to AutoZone and got a reading of P0011:
Definition: Intake camshaft position (CMP) system performance bank 1.
Explanation: ECM has detected the desired camshaft position and actual position do not agree - bank 1.
Probable cause:
1. Open or short circuit condition
2. Mechanical condition with CMP actuator
3. Failed CMP actuator sonlenoid
4. low oil level

Buzzed OnStar for a diagnostic. They said the engine controller was bad. Take it to dealer very soon.

The oil level was just fine, and there is an idiot light for low oil pressure. So I'm guessing no. 4 is not the issue. The car seems to run just fine. I can look for a blown fuze, but this looks like a job for my mechanic friend.
Any thoughts or experience with this trouble code?

99% of the time this is the fix:

( I have no links to my percentage statistic, just a guess).
