Look for age cracks in the rubber hose.

Okay rechecked all hoses and connections even sprayed throttlebody cleaner around connections and no engine surge. Took throttlebody elbow off and vacuum hose and sprayed throttlebody cleaner in them and plastic elbow still all ran out clean. Gas the engine gas several times now all a sudden air is pushing out of the valve cover vacuum nipple..

Where before nothing from nipple on valve cover but tons of vacuum from plastic elbow. This time no vacuum from plastic elbow it wasn’t sucking air with hose removed. Sprayed some throttlebody cleaner in throttlebody too. With scanner on P0172 was still showing then traction light came on while we had both hoses off. Erased both codes and way home nothing came back on. Thermostat has been acting normal now so maybe was just stuck.

So do I need to remove valve cover and clean it? Or can I take a pipe cleaner or air hose nozzle with engine off and just blow on nipple for valve cover. Seems like must be a clog in that area.

Put it back together, drive it awhile, monitor for the engine code to return.

Yeah that’s the plan. Think any of my ideas are good for the possible issue? I did notice when the oil filler neck was knocked loose by my friend that where it looks the oil on it was sludgy looking. But I have always changed oil on time and it’s never looked bad draining out.

Drive it , check the oil often. Once or twice a week.

37 out this am. Started it and it started but sluggish for a second, then reved up then bogged down and was fine. Afterwards always idles and drives perfect..

Check your fuel pressure, you should be able to rent the tool at your local parts palace.

Yes gonna have to check that again. Now the scanner said ambient temp is 77 and it’s 45 outside. Not sure if that means the coolant temp sensor is off?

digital on dash matches correctly with scanner.

Okay so then doesn’t need to match outside temp.
