P0300 code
P0300 code
I have an intermittent 0300 pending code that is driving me nuts. Then yesterday it threw a 0302 pending code. I checked the spark plug on number 2 cylinder and it looked okay so I swapped the coil pack out and the car acted up so I swapped in another one and it ran ok until today when it threw fits of acting up and running ok but it came back to the code 0300 pending code again. I did clear the codes each time. I am planning on buying all brand new coil packs but does anyone have an idea on which brand I should buy? I can’t afford much so is there a “cheap” brand that gives good results? Please help. And as always any help given is greatly and highly appreciated. God bless Y’all. Stay safe and healthy.
"Acted up" doesn't mean anything.
When you switch coils the thing to look for is the miss to move or stay. If it moves to where you moved the coil the coil is suspect, if it stays where it was it is something else.
P0300 means "unspecified misfire detected".
P0301 - P0304 mean a misfire was detected in the cylinder indicated by the fourth digit.
Misfires are detected by variations in the crankshaft sensor, that is why it is important to relearn the sensor variation if it or the ECM is replaced, even if you don't get a code after the replacement.

The P0300 may have graduated to a P0302 when the car figured out what cylinder it was. When you clear the codes it starts all over again. Be more patient after you do experiments.
If economy is a priority hold yer horses on springing for coil packs. It's probably something else.
Have you cleaned the MAF sensor and checked to see how the throttle body looks? A fuel injector problem is a good bet for a problem with a specific injector. I know 2006 had troublesome injector. IdK if 2007 got the same ones. 2008 didn't
You could try a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. Also, consider running Top Tier fuel.
