The next step in your thorough investigation is to remove the head and visually inspect the innards; there is no other testing from outside the engine that will tell you anything.

I am reminded that I have spent thousands of dollars denying a pet had terminal cancer, more times than I am willing to admit. I do understand.

Thank you. I had wondered this too. Stranger things have happened and I wouldn't be surprised to see it here. I will know better this weekend after I pull the injectors for inspection. I'll apply new seals and re-run the compression test. I'll then drive it a few days to see if the CEL returns on #4.

Are they standard sized bore or oversized? If I rebuild, there is a possibility I will bore the cylinders. Are the domes stock or are they performance?

They are standard bore since they came out of a stock LNF. I replaced the pistons with and rods with forged Wiseco and carillo rods

The cylinder sleeves aren’t thick enough to be boring out oversized to much.

Are the sleeves replaceable? Or does the whole block need replaced?

Awesome! At least if I find that the engine needs rebuilt, I can just replace the sleeves and pistons, rather than worrying about boring it. That makes things a little bit easier. Thanks for the feedback!

I wonder. Do they recommend freezing(shrinking) the liners to make installation easier ?
I remember doing that years ago when replacing the liners in a small diesel engine for a customer.
