P0326 p0014
P0326 p0014
Hello. I have 2009 2.4. with 196K miles. It’s had an ESC off message at start up and traction light on for a long while which didn’t seem to affect driving. It’s had the codes: C0460-5A and c0460-42, which weren’t addressed as the car wasn’t being driven much and there were other pressing matters.
The car recently seemed to occasionally have an intermittent low rumble or rattle from somewhere while driving. Hard to describe the sound as it isn’t consistent or loud. Check engine light came on yesterday and autozone scanned and gave the following codes: P0326 and print out says, “secondary DTCs” P0014. It also gave C0460-5A and C0460-42 which the employee suggested is probably a separate issue and maybe unrelated to the CEL. Their software recommended I replace the camshaft position sensor.
background…earlier in the summer I replaced both the intake & exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid valves. I don’t remember which code I had back then, but it resolved the CEL at the time.
Trying to decide if I should go ahead and replace the position sensor to start or try something else first. The car is now the primary vehicle to take my dad to chemo a few times a week, so clearly it’s a priority to get her running well again.
Thanks I’m advance for any suggestions. :)

P0326 is the knock sensor. P0014 is the exhaust VVT valve. The C0460 codes are about the steering position sensor; I would look at fuses and wires first (fuse #19 on the BCM and #44 under hood). The C0460 turns the esc off, the P0014 also turns ESC and traction off.
Could be a wiring problem at the EBCM. I don't know what "secondary DTC" means. The sounds might be the EBCM activating the ABS.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I’m gonna try all the suggestions after I get home. Maybe I’ll get lucky. Should I also get an oil change first? I was planning on getting it done later this week as it’s showing 15% life left.
Late update: tightened the bolts on the fuse box and got an oil change 5w-30. The engine light came off. I still have the traction control light and ESC service off alert, but it’s good to at least have the CEL gone.
