P0341 and Misfire

Just to be sure, a 2006 HHR, 2.2l LT uses a 5/8" (16mm) spark plug socket, right?
And also, I got a P0341 code last night - Where do I find this CMP sensor A? (I also got a pending P0455 and a misfire on cyl 3)

Thanks,
Allen

May be all related. Check wiring and connector to the cam position sensor, if it looks ok you could try just replacing the sensor. Mine was pretty cheap. (Bought one just to test, put the old one back.)

P0455 usually means the gas cap is loose, or there is a hole in the EVAP system..

The 2.2L does not have a CMP. The Ignition Control Module calculates the camshaft position. The 2.2L engine is a "wasted spark" system, meaning that 2 cylinders fire at the same time regardless of cycle. The ICM can sense the voltage difference between a compression stroke and a exhaust stroke.

the spark is applied to #1/#2 and #3/#4. So, a misfire on #3 may actually be a problem in #4.

So, the miss is related to the CMP performance. Figure out the miss; check wires, compression test, check injectors, replace ignition module etc.

Guys my car isn't starting.
All I did was remove the ignition module, try and unscrew the plugs (it didn't work so I sprayed penetrating oil down all the plug wells).
It's turning but the engine doesn't start.

You don't mention if you put everything back together?

I put everything back, including the maf sensor and the air filter.
I think the oil is shorting the plugs. I'm not sure.

I noticed the black wire in the ignition module connector has been disconnected. The one that's for ground. But we used to use the car frike ever since like this and it hasn't given a problem. Could that be it?

A disconnected ground wire could be your problem
