P0606

I bought my 06 HHR used in March with 83k miles on it. I haven't had any problems with it, never been to a mechanic either. Yesterday, I ran some errands before work and on my way home, it took a few minutes for it to start. It had given me engine power reduced, and engine disabled. Eventually it started, and the check engine light popped on. Autozone gave me P0606 as the only code. I haven't noticed any changes with it driving. I also don't have much money, so I'm hoping I don't actually have to replace my PCM.

P0606 is a PCM internal fault. I would clear the code and see if it returns may have been just a fluke. If the code returns you will most likely have to replace the PCM. The PCM is under the emission warranty for 8 years 80000 miles. If your miles are still close to the 80000 it wouldn't hurt to talk to your dealer and maybe they can warranty the PCM although you are over on miles.

X2 on what Lucky said.

Also couldn't hurt to check the wiring connections at the PCM.

My emissions warranty expired Sept 21st of this year, and I'm at about 86k miles. Think they would consider it if the code came back?
