I get this code (p2270) after replacing the downstream o2 sensor. Mechanic says everything is within of what Chevy recommends. Is there a chance that it’s the wrong o2 sensor or could it be a defective sensor?I got it from Advance Auto and am not sure if it’s a OEM sensor. No evidence of cracked flex pipe or any other exhaust issues. Anything else I should look for? Need it to pass emissions!!

The code is telling you that the O2 Sensor is not capable of reading high enough.

Why did you replace the sensor to begin with? They rarely break.

 

Of course there is a chance it is the wrong sensor or defective. All things are possible.

I replaced it because I had a code that said it was not operating correctly. Don’t remember the exact code. I am not sure if it is a Bosh sensor. I threw the box away. I am going to go to Advance and see if they can pull up which one I bought. I am going to replace with OEM sensor.

 

NGK/NTK they make the ACDelco.

Or, it was operating correctly and finding a fault? Don't ever try to translate the title of an OBD2 test, you will be wrong 98% of the time.

 

Probably the latter. This is where I am now, guess I just need to replace sensor with NGK/NTK.

 

Called advanced and they said that it is a denso sensor and that it was the correct part number. Is denso OEM, or should I stick with the AC Delco?
