No messages coming up on the DIC. The driver one seems to be functioning proprerly.

No new covers, everything is stock except the tint and a K&N filter in the stock box. Hopefully it's nothing to serious. I'll check the under seat connections later when I get a chance. There is one small thing that looks odd...... there is what appears to be a small light bulb mounted to the center of the fog light switch plate cover. May have to pull the waterfall cover as well to investigate.

If the computer doesn't see the passenger pressence sensor at start up it should turn on the airbag light. This doesn't sound like a wiring problem, but I could be wrong.

Airbag light

I may be having the same problem on my 2006 LS. The airbag indicator used to work when someone sat in the passenger seat, now it won't even show when I sit in the driver's seat. All it shows is both airbags deactivated.

This plus other electrical problems seemed to show up after I had problems with my original head unit. Would everything in the cabin be somehow controlled by the BCM?

I just checked my 2006. The red airbag light, next to the seat belt light, under the speedometer comes on when you turn on the key prior to starting during the bulb test. When running, the passenger airbag indicator over the radio either shows off or on and a red seat belt warning comes on if the belt isn't fastened when someone's in the seat. I pushed down on the passenger seat with about 50 pounds of force to get the airbag to switch to on. It has a few second delay both on and off.

I suspect there is something wrong with the airbag system in your vehicle. The light may have failed, a fuse may have blown or someone may have disabled it. Airbags are expensive and people have been known to remove and sell them. I've seen replacement covers, that take the place of the airbag, for sale. Used car dealers have been known to do this. Many States don't allow dealers to sell vehicles without functioning airbags.

OK, finally solved...... Pulled the waterfall off and lo and behold, the plug had been pulled. Once I put it back in, the light came on as it should. Thanks to all who offered advice. It's great to have such a great resource of helpful and knowledgeable people out there.

Great that you got it fixed and it was a $0 item.
