Passenger side under dash airbag connector

2009 HHR LT2. My service airbag light has been going on when it's hot outside. If I drive for a while with the dash AC vents going it sometimes stops. The dealer says it's a passenger side, under dash, airbag connector. $345.00 to replace. I'm sure he's just reading codes. How accurate do you think this is? Does this seem right? Never been in accident or anything.

I don't know how they would know you need to replace a connector without looking at it. The estimate is most likely mostly labor taking the dash apart. You could probably take it apart yourself and test the connectors by disconnecting the reconnecting them. The ONLY magic involved is disconnect the negative cable from the battery and wait 5 minutes before you touch any airbag related part.

There are also the Roll Over Sensor under the waterfall in front of the shifter and the Airbag Module under the console behind the shifter.

Mine was doing the same thing. Was going to clean the connections but wasn't able to get it apart. Just by messing with the connector my problem has gone away!

All of the SRS connectors have locks on them that you have to puzzle out.
