Did the CEL flash? That means "STOP AND REPAIR NOW OR THE CAT WILL DIE".

The transmission problem could be causing the noise. The cat and/or the evap could be causing the performance issues.

honestly, if you guys were me in my situation, knowing what you know, where would you start the EAP system leak has been there and it has caused no problems so I’m really thinking that it’s the catalytic converter then because that’s the newest code that and the misfire

"Caused no problems" yes it did, it killed the cat.
The CheckEngineLight is the light on your dashboard that looks like an engine.

Nobody knows how to repair an Evap system when I called around I just accept it’s broken. I can save up to fix it. I just got a 700$ quote on catalyst. It’ll take me a couple days but I can do that. Where should I start. The check engine light is not flashing and now I have to drive From Cleveland to Detroit. Pray for me.

Start with testing the evap vent valve, see if you can blow air thru it, it should be closed.

This one up under the hood if you can blow air thru it , it needs to be replaced

I know u guys care cuz u are here helping me. I feel so useless and stupid. I’m a literal homeless SW trying to just stay alive another day. I’m sorry that I’ve let the check engine light stay on for so long. Some days it’s a matter of gas or food. Other days I get to enjoy nice things because some random rich man paid for it. But these men want me to be stuck around them they won’t fix my car but they will buy me named brand lingerie.. if u give me advice because u know what ur talking about im going to trust you and actually use your advice to become a better person and a better hhr owner. I have spent days and hours maybe even weeks worth of tears have fallen in this car. I just need her to last a couple more months. If she dies I literally lose everything.

I personally replaced this 6 months ago. Should I take it off and try it again? I am capable of doing this. This is a great place to start.

So tell me what u think and I’ll order this part.

I thought the vent valve was back by the fuel tank?

Could this p0449 be a blown fuse?
