Unhappy Please Help Wet Floorboards

i have just purchased a preowned hhr from a private owner. my mom and i spent our life savings on it , it is the nicest thing either of us have ever owned. the problem is it has 34000 miles and i need it to drive my route that is 270 miles , a day , 6 days a week. the 36000 warantee will be up in very few days. i hate to take it to the dealer. i have lots of experience working on my own vehicles. it is a 08 , it has sunroof but i am not sure if that is the problem. these hhrs have so many problems with leaks that i don't know where to look 1st. i got some very good info from a guy online about his 06 leaking around the cowl , he fixed it by resealing a plastic panel that is under the cowl. my 08 is not made the same, and it leaks on drivers side , or that is where it is wet , front and rear floorboards. i have read online , service bullitens about a wiring harness that was not sealed from the factory , also that some body panels needed to be resealed. all comments and suggestions will be greatly apreceated. since i will be putting so many miles on my hhr so quickly , i will try to post any helpful info , hopefully it will be good with no issues. thanks to all for a great site. joe

I just fixed mine it was leaking from the sunroof drain If you pop the cover loose at the top of the A piller there is one torx screw cant remember the size and then pull the sun visor down 3 screws you can look in and see if the drain lines are hooked up in the front corners of the sunroof Im not sure if there are rear drains or not

The 06's and 07's had the cowl leak but they fixed the design in 08 .
Might be a bad seal around the door. Not sure about the wiring harness on the 08's. I had heard about it on others.
Your best bet would be the dealer before the warranty is gone. Once they have it noted in there system you will be covered for awhile in case it leaks again.
Check post 21 in this Thread https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...t=18093&page=3 Maybe ChevyMrg will reply if he is on or tomorrow with suggestion. He is usually pretty helpful

Take it to the dealer. No sense tearing the car apart yourself when the dealer will do it for free.

gm was no help

i just called the gm customer assistance , and explained my situation. i was told that as soon as the vehicle reaches 36000 , i would be charged a diagnostic fee, and was also told that my wet floorboards may not be caused by a defect. wow , this is a tough world , sometimes makes me want to go back to drinkin and pimpin. i often believe that it just wasn't meant for me to ever have anything nice.
