Power brake and dashboard lights
I have 2008 hhr ss .When my car sits over night and the next morning I start it up and start to drive,I have to step hard to stop.It feels like I have no power brake and I have no dash lights .After about 60 seconds the power brake and lights start to work.Anybody else have this problem. Thanks Geeze

Yes you need to get a vacuum pump for your SS power brake booster. This is this first you have noticed it? A few years earlier and it would be a free fix.
Here is the TSB in part, just GoOgle the number.
If yours already has the pump perhaps there is an electrical fault with it. It could be shorting and causing the dash light problem.
20A fuse in position 8 and relay in position 24 in the underhood fuse box.

Was any work done recently? I'm wondering if something might have been damaged or not reconnected. Either that or, like donbrew said, something wrong with the vacuum pump(only with auto transmissions). Here is a thread that may help

X2 on checking the status of your vacuum pump. Your description sounds just like the issue others had with the 1st year(08) SS and hard brakes at startup.
As far as the dash lights, that's a new one on me. Don't think the lights and brakes are related. More like a coincidence.
Fwiw. Read the link in post #4. Then go look and see if your's has the pump. If it doesn't, then that repair per the TSB was not done.
And. Just to be accurate. Your's is an automatic trans. ?

Thank you for your support.I have a extended warranty and I least no what the problem is when I take it in. The car has had plenty of problems and they seem to hold the car when I take in for 3 or 4 days. This way I no it shouldn't be there that long. Geeze
