Unhappy Power Mirror Problems

I have read several forums about Power Mirror issues but I havent found a solution for mine. My son spilled soda on the switch and it would only work on the passengers side on the up position. I got a replacement switch and had the same happen with the new switch. Checked fuse #21 and its ok. Any reasoning on what could be wrong? Switch worked fine before the spill.

Probably a bad mirror motor and the switch wasn't at fault to begin with then.

Is it possible to short out a relay? Is there one that controls the power mirrors?

X2

My 2008 sometimes worked on both sides when I got it, then never worked again. I am the only driver, so I never cared enough to check it out. While I was replacing the left door speaker, I tried to unplug the mirror switch but gave up because it is a giant PITA.

Cleaned the switch, used an eraser on the contacts, and it started working again. Thanks for your ideas guys. I sent back the switch I ordered thru ebay today.
