Power Mirrors Not Working

I have a 2009 HHR LT2 and both power mirrors stopped working last week. I assume it is the switch in the door and I found the part number thanks to the pdf posted by donbrew! 15261340 After reading several of the threads here with similar complaints donbrew also said in one that he bet the door speaker didn't work. I just checked and he is correct. Mine isn't working either. When I have the door panel off I will check for corrosion at that connection and will also check the door boot (is that what the covering over the harness is called as it comes from the body to the door panel?) The power windows all work.

I think that the panel is a pain to take off so I wanted to ask if there is anything else I should check while it is off and maybe change out to prevent any future issues with anything. I would prefer changing something that frequently breaks while the panel is off rather than having to take it off again in the future I have already changed the door handle when that broke.

Also should I buy the OEM switch or does someone have a good aftermarket brand they can recommend.

TIA

The corrosion in the speakers is not at the connectors it is in the coils.
I would guess that Dorman has the part cheaper than GM.

Does that mean I should just replace the speaker too?

You might as well if it is not working.
As for the' Dorman' switch, I personally vote against it.
I won't use Dorman anything, but that's just me.
Use GM parts. Not that much more $$.

I'm checking out the crutchfield site for a speaker right now. I will check out all the other speakers too just in case but it is raining now so I will do that later. I have the upgraded 7 speaker system.

You should check fuse #21 in the underhood fuse block.

Sorry I forgot to say that I already checked the 21 fuse before I posted but I haven't checked the under dash fuse box yet. I read that might be a possibility from another thread. It's raining here now so when it stops tomorrow I'll check that before ordering anything.

21 is for the mirrors, I removed it to be sure it wasn't just for the inside mirror.

My inside mirror is just a regular old mirror. No electronics at all. The 21 fuse wouldn't have anything to do with it in my car. When I checked the fuse box I made sure all the fuses were seated.

When you remove the door panel use a strap through the handle to hold it up while you replace the speakers, you don’t need to remove the door panel to replace the mirror switch on the 2009 and up LS/LT
