I think 2007 was a real recall in Canada.

Yeah, Canada did it differently than the states... Canada was a recall, states was not. Not sure about specific years and stuff.

Boys, I’m in Canada, it wasn’t a recall , it is an extended warranty, lifetime as long as I owned the HHR.
If you decide to change the motor yourself

For a complete discussion of the recall/warranty look especially at the last page of https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gm-r...-50057/page27/

Some confusion comes because the way the extended warranty is announced is via a recall notice and there are several of them when you put them all together 2006-2008 non-turbo are covered and some 2009-2010 non-turbo are covered.

recall 10023 and 14115 with various updates indicated by a letter on the end.
The warranty part number is 19257875. This is important because some parts replaced under 10023 where recalled under 14115.

I have contacted the GM dealer and they said if it is not the little motor they would charge me $125+ an hour to find what it is. Can I trust them? Or should I do the repair myself?
