Power windows dont work,, help
Power windows dont work,, help
2008 HHR SS , window switches located in the door, not on the center console. 1 day the switches just stopped working, power locks, and mirrors work. i checked the under hood fuses every things good, then i checked the fuse box under the center console, no power to the 30amp power window fuse circuit. my friend lent me his switch to see if that was the problem, still no good. does anyone know what powers the 30amp window circuit on the under the center console, or does anyone have a power distribution diagram , help please.
Have you slapped yourself on the forehead and checked the window lock button? That is the extra button, on a LT it's between the L and R , on a SS it's probably right there by the window buttons.
You have a shorted wire if you have no power to the 30A fuse in the console fuse box (assuming you tested with the key on or RAP engaged). 2 possible places for harness troubles are the, pass through at the door, or the harness behind the BCM.
Or the lock out is engaged as donbrew stated.

Windows dont work help!!!
OK, I even changed the switch unit, with no luck,, i cant find any fuses blown, and i do not have the safety lock on. the safety lock light will not even light up either. my dealer said i have to reprogram the new door switch to work, is this true? the harness behind the bcm, where does it go to? does anyone have a good diagram, for pin out testing? what plug on what harness.

Does your radio still work as that should also be fed by the retained accessory power relay? If the radio doesn't work then check the retained power relay in the body control module, BCM, in the console. I think that the power would be fed through the fuse before it goes to the door switches or the fuse wouldn't be protecting anything. I assume that power is fed through the retained accessory power relay to the window fuse. If there is no power to the RAP relay, there are two fuses in the engine compartment fuse box, number 4 and 6, that feed power to the BCM. If the fuses are good, the connections on the box could be the problem.
