problem in winter
#2
Welcome to the site
Ice build up at the front doors are a common problem for those of us that get snow and ice.
I don't think anyone has come up with a solution to the problem. I spend some time deicing the car often when I can get it inside so it don't refreeze.
I do know there have been some that the ice buildup was so hard it bent the corner of the door when the door was forced open.

Here's one of the better threads on the issue, being in Carolina I've never had it happen, but you can pick up some ideas from folks in the snow belt.

Ice has always been a problem in the winter, but this is the first winter it has been bad enough to prevent opening the door all the way. It always made that horrendous creaking sound when it scraped open. I didn't stop my wife fast enough and she pulled it hard enough to bend the front corner of the passenger side door trying to get it open. Barely noticable, but it's bent now.
